After the conveyor belt is slit to the required width, it has to be measured to the exact length and cut off straight and square. In many workshops the measuring cutting operation is done by hand, on a work table, or sometimes on the floor if it is a large conveyor belt. This operation is rather time consuming and inconvenient. Measuring and marking the conveyor belt length stepwise (if the belt is longer than the table or tape ruler) sometimes causes mistakes. Moreover, depending on the type of splice to be made, some extra splice length has to be added. This calculation might cause mistakes as well, especially if the calculation has to be made in inches and fractions of an inch. More efficiently - more accurate measuring and cutting The actions can be done more efficiently, more accurately and without mistakes by using a cut off table. |
