Fitting ropes
In some cases conveyor belts should be provided with ropes in longitudinal direction, e.g. for tracking the belt, for separating the transported goods or to prevent spillage at the edges. Generally ropes in longitudinal direction are put on by means of hot air heating. We have several machines available for fitting ropes to a belt.
Fitting side walls
Some belts need to be equipped with corrugated side walls. The function of the side walls is to keep the transported goods on the belt and to prevent spillage. Side walls can be made of solid plastics or fabric reinforced material. Side walls are put on a belt in a corrugated shape. This shape enables stretching of the side wall, passing the pulleys of the conveyor and adding lateral stability to the side wall as well.
Generally side walls are put on by means of hot air and/or infra red heating on a side wall unit, mounted on a rope fitting machine.
Capping edges
Capping edges is done for hygienic reasons. Common conveyor belts have their fabric inner layers exposed at the edges. At these "open" edges the fabrics might absorb liquids or other substances and become polluted. Bacteria and/or fungus growth might occur. Hygienic demands grow rapidly in the market, so there is a growing need for capped edges, especially for food processing belts.
We have different machines to do this operation, from rather basic to fully automated and super fast state-of-the-art machines.

The machine is developed for capping edges of conveyor belts and for fitting ropes. The edge capping process consists of three stages:
- cutting a groove near the edges of a conveyor belt, from the bottom side,
- filling the groove by fitting a rope in it,
- trimming the edges, cutting through the just fitted rope

Basically this machine is meant for fitting ropes and guide strips to a conveyor belt, in longitudinal direction. However a variety of optional units is available to make the Rope Fitting Machine VEE 1700 a multifunctional machine on which you can also fit cleats, fit sidewalls and process edgecapping.

This machine is meant for fitting ropes and guide strips to (non-) endless conveyor belts, in longitudinal direction. With an optional sidewall unit it is also possible to fit sidewalls (to endless belts only!). The same goes for edge capping: this is also possible with optional units and also only on endless belts.
