In most cases this is the operation is performed as a first step in the confectioning of a conveyor belt. The initial belt material comes from the stock with slabs, or from the remnant stock. Most conveyor belt workshops have those two types of stock. Orders are quite often slit from the remnant stock. For this reason it is important that conveyor belt slitters are suited for slitting both from a slab and from a remnant piece of belt material.
On a conveyor belt slitter belt pieces are slit to their required width and to the approximate length. Later on the conveyor belt ends will be cut straight and square (or bias, if required). During this last operation the exact conveyor belt length is determined. Some conveyor belts have to be slit after they have been made endless by splicing both ends to one another. Slitting may be necessary to trim the edges, to "track and true" the conveyor belt or to get more small conveyor belts out of one. Often it is more efficient to manufacture a wider conveyor belt and slit it later on, if a series of narrow belts is required, especially if they should have the exact same length.
Modular conveyor belt slitters - build to your needs We have several slitter types available. Novitool's conveyor belt slitters are modular, which means that a slitter can be build to order with more or less standard components.

The conveyor belt slitting unit is provided with a tracking frame, for guiding the conveyor belt on the input-side. The belt tension in the conveyor belt slitter can be adjusted by tilting the tracking frame. The unit is also provided with a hexagon shaped knife bar, carrying three blade holders. The bar is provided with a metric scale division, for an easier set up of the blades.
